Camp Growth 2026: Restoring Hope, Building Futures

 

Camp Growth is a premier restorative summer program designed for youth (ages 8-16), specifically those impacted by the justice system or in foster care. Please continue to pray as we work to reach 681 junior youth for camp this year in Butte County and Sacramento, CA. They need your prayers, and the camp needs your prayerful support as well. Guided by Proverbs 16:3 (KJV), we provide a safe, spiritually-grounded environment where campers can break intergenerational cycles of trauma and experience the love of God.

 

Many of our campers face heavy burdens at home. At Camp Growth, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, wonder, and freedom of summer. We facilitate this through:

• Authentic Community: Creating a judgment-free space where campers connect with peers who share similar life experiences.

​

• The "Walk Worthy" Pledge: We empower youth and staff alike to live by the W-H-S-C pillars: Worship God, Honor Duty, Serve Others, and Care for Creation.

• Personalized Care: A 2:1 staff-to-camper ratio ensures every child receives personalized attention and care.

 

The Heart of Our Program​​

• The Free Camp Model: Because we serve families in hardship, every child attends Camp Growth on a 100% scholarship basis.

   

• The Wordless Bracelet: Every camper learns the Gospel through a color-coded silicone bracelet. They earn their bracelet by sharing the message of salvation—from God's love (Gold) to spiritual growth (Green)—with a staff member.

   

• The Backpack Initiative: Every child receives a personalized backpack filled with essentials like a flashlight, toiletries, and a 15-inch stuffed animal. It also includes a signed birthday card and a gift funded by community partners.

   

• Signature Hand-Made Quilts: A highlight of our Arts & Crafts program is the multi-day "Quilt Project," where campers create a lasting treasure to take home.

   

A Day of Growth and Worship

​Our schedule balances high-energy adventure with intentional "Unshackled" rest and spiritual nourishment.

 

• Spiritual Training: Campers engage in a 7-stage biblical journey throughout the day, including morning prayer, worship services, character classes with the Director, cabin devotions, and evening testimony sessions.

   

• Character & Faith: Daily interactive classes focus on identity in Christ, truthfulness, and resilience.

   

• Intentional Rest: During our mandatory quiet time, campers have the space for "Unshackled" reflection and reading, which helps prevent behavioral fatigue.

   

• Worship in Song: Music is central to our atmosphere, featuring a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary songs like Strong Tower, Good, Good Father, and the Camp Growth Theme Song.

   

Activities & Creative Expression

​We provide diverse activities designed to build confidence and "level the playing field" for every child:

 

• Adventure & Discovery: Activities include swimming, archery, horseback riding, and a signature multi-day quilt-making project.

   

• Tailored Crafts: Beyond the quilts, our creative sessions are personalized. Girls focus on enchanting projects like necklaces and friendship bracelets, while boys build models.

   

• Themed Celebrations: The week concludes with a "Princess Dinner" and limousine ride for the girls and a major "Birthday Party" outing for the boys.
